The

MORRIS MUSTANG

Part 2

All major parts laid out and ready for covering.
The fuselage has been covered with balsa sheet, and everything has been sanded to a nice finish.

Silver Solarfilm applied to wing tip. I like Solarfilm, it´s cheap and cheerful and very easy to apply to compound curves like wing tips etc.

The wing is covered and the fuselage has received a healthy dose of Clearcote to fuelproof the front end.
The engine is an old O.S. MAX-H .40 from the seventies. It´s no powerhouse, to be honest, but it usually starts in a couple of flicks, it's light, and runs beautifully.
And, no, that´s not a single blade prop, it´s a "used" one.

Covering is good under way. The American insignia is cut from
blue and white Solarfilm, the checkered rudder is made by applying metallic
blue squares one by one. A coat of Prymol makes multiple layers of film stick really hard.

The small horizontal stabilizer and huge ailerons show here.
Extremely short moment arm combined with a whopping 34 cm (17 inch) wing chord and 104 cm (42 inch) wingspan really sets this model apart from average sport models.
